Fm - Jazz-Rock Fusion Backing Track (i V, 136bpm)

from Jazz-Rock Fusion Backing Tracks - All 12 minor Keys by Cliff Smith Guitar Lessons

about

This backing track has an energetic jazz-rock fusion feel; organ, electric bass and drums. You can practice your chord playing, solo over the track, or jam along on bass or drums.

Chord i from the key of F minor: Fm7, Fm6.
Chord V from the key of F minor: C7, C9, C7#9, C7#5#9.
If you want to simplify the chords, just play Fm and C7.

The Fm6 chord (F, Ab, C, D) suggests the the F dorian mode: F, G, Ab, Bb, C, D, Eb.
The F dorian mode also works over Fm7 (F, Ab, C, Eb), so you can play F dorian for the whole Cm section.
The C7 chord (C, E, G, Bb) suggests the F harmonic minor scale: F, G, Ab, Bb, C, Db, E.
The C9 chord (C, E, G, Bb, D) suggests the F melodic minor scale: F, G, Ab, Bb, C, D, E.
The C7#9 chord (C, E, G, Bb, D#) contains both E and Eb, so the F dorian mode or F harmonic minor scale should work.
The C7#5#9 chord (C, E, G#, Bb, D#) contains both E and Eb, so the F dorian mode or F harmonic minor scale should work. You could also use the C whole tone scale: C, D, E, F#, G#, A#.

A simpler approach would be to use the F dorian mode over the whole Fm section, and the F harmonic minor scale over the whole C7 section.

You can also use arpeggios of course, and pentatonic and blues scales!
